Euan Uglow
Although Uglow has painted still life and landscapes, he is primarily an artist of the human figure. Itzu Rimmer has depicted the album with “Summer Picture” by Euan Uglow on the cover. As the painter John McLean wrote about Uglow’s art: “His observation is so exquisite each discrete plane, each color rings out, like a note in a finely delivered song”.
Rimmer in his still life uses the same colors as Uglow in his artwork except for vivid tints of the nectarine. Views of spetators stretch to the inside painting. Forms of objects on the table correspond with Uglow’s forms and shadows. Interestingly, Uglow desccribed: “I’m trying to paint a structured painting full of controlled, and therefore potent, emotion”. Rimmer’s still life coveys the exact mood, it is very precise.
