Menashe Kadishman is a famous Israeli artist, who often challenged and surprised audiences. He is best remembered as the sculptor and painter who created a great variety of sheep images in different styles. “Horse With Bird”
“Horse With Bird” is a very light artwork. Birds have surrounded a magical pony. Moreover, they all seems to be flying somewhere upward. Characters are jumping on a rainbow.
“Horse”
“Horse” is looking carefully at spectators. A multicolored background highlights the white figure with very deep black eyes, it appears to be ready for a serious conversation. Also, as it is coming from the left side, it seems that horse just has happened to stop by.
Another depictions of “Horse” shows an animal peeking through one of the layers of the work’s background. The painting looks like to be divided into three parts. Even though two paintings of “Horse” have related compositions, their mood is very different. Both of them are able to stir up unique personal memories and emothions.
