Mitzvah Dance
“Mitzvah Dance“ is an old Hasidic tradition and an important part of a Jewish Wedding. The men dance before the bride on the wedding night, sometimes it is one of the leading rabbis or bribe’s father or grandfather. Zvi Malnovitzer depicted the atmosphere of the celebration. Notably, viewers of the paintng are able to meet the gaze of the dancer and try to understand and share his feelings. According to the custom, only close relatives participate in this tradition. Thus, depicted moment is sensative and very honest.
