Antoine Bouvard was born on December 26, 1875 in Saint-Étienne. The civil status declared as “born of unknown parents”.
Before the late 1920s the artist frequently used watercolor and gouache, his art was influenced by the Barbizon school as well as Art Nouveau movement.
Through England and France after the IWW in April 1930 Bouvard stopped in Venice and this place became to be his inspiration and muse for the following life. Serenissima became to be the only subject of his art.
