“Ha’Ari Synagogue in Safed” by Moshe Castel
“Ha’Ari Synagogue in Safed” by Moshe Elazar Castel, well-known Israeli painter, who worked and lived in Safed. He depicts one of the most mystic place Ha’Ari Synagogue. Although Castel puts an accent on spiritual themes in his works, he believes, that "art is not symbolic, but rather material, the material is the main thing, the way the paint is placed, the way the layers are placed on the picture, this is the most essential thing."
