Flags

A piece by Israeli artist Yaacov Agam, who is known for contributions to optical and kinetic art. In the painting there are flags of the USA and Israel. The artist thinks about the connections and relations of two states. Through culture, and here particularly the music, they complement each other. Five-pointed star from the American flag transforms into Six-pointed star on the Israeli flag and vice versa. Yaacov Agam is also famous for a type of print known as Agamograph, that uses barrier-grid animation to present totally different Images, depending on the angle from which the spectator is looking.
