“Two crowned sheep” Menashe Kadishman
A piece by famous Israeli artist Menashe Kadishman. The painter's trademark are hundreds of portraits of sheep, each one unique. On the painting we see two sheep crowned with multicolor stroks. Discerning sad and bit different looks of the sheep mesmerize spectators. At the 1978 Venice Biennale, Kadishman showed sheep for the first time: he presented a flock of colored sheep as living art. Kadishman is well-known for earthworks, sculptures, performances, installations, and paintings redolent with religious themes. He believed, that “art grows from feelings and not rational calculations alone”.
