“The Western wall” by Ora Nissim
“The Western Wall” by Contemporary Israeli painter Ora Nissim. The colourful painting shows on the forefront people in Tefilins, concentrated on the prayer. The Western Wall is shown luminous, striving upward. Grown up in the Jerusalem neighborhood “Mea Shearim”, Nissim depicts "colorfulness, feeling, movement and joy, that are hidden" behind the strict appearance of the Orthodox. As the artist has described her art: she paints "Judaism today and in the future", not "Judaism of the past". Ora Nisim shows living Jerusalem in the motion. Using a combination of stains and paints, she creates captivating compositions.
