“Tallit and Flag” by Yaakov Feldman
“Tallit and flag" by Israeli artist Yaacov Feldman. The painting reflects to two basic principles of Israel: Jewish culture and the state. Red spots tell about the dramatic history and tragedies. The flag and the tallit here are two old warriors, that passed together many battles. The realistic painting corresponds to the quote of the artist: "ordinary things inhabiting artist's pictures, like a garlic bulb, a matchbox, a pair of scissors, can sometimes tell you no less than human characters about the mystery of life." Born in Vitebsk, Feldman graduated from Vitebsk Art School in 1987 and studied at the Academy of Textile Design.
