Jerusalem in purple

“Jerusalem in purple” by Contemporary Israeli painter Ora Nissim. The colourful painting shows on the forefront people, the unique technique of the artist creates the feeling, that these people are moving, going in, out and around the buildings. The city is shown luminous, probably even flaming, striving upward. Grown up in the Jerusalem neighborhood “Mea Shearim”, she depicts "colorfulness, feeling, movement and joy, that are hidden behind that black clothing". As the artist has described her art: she paints "Judaism today and in the future", not "Judaism of the past". Ora Nissim shows living Jerusalem in the motion, the language of crossing cultures and mysteries. Using a combination of stains and paints, she creates captivating compositions.
