“Abstract” by Michael Gross
Abstact painting by conceptual artist Michael Gross. His early paintings and sculptures were figurative, in the 1960s and 1970s works bacame to be more abstract and minimalistic. However, they were always tied to natural forms, never pure abstract. He dealed with contrasts between colors and textures, he focused on proportions, areas of colours and the placement of objects. Artist was born in Tiberias in 1920, studied at Technion in Haifa and at the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Gross died on November 4, 2004.
