“Woman In The Market” by Alberto Dávila
"Woman In The Market" by Peruvian artist Alberto Dávila (1912-1988). In the painting we see the figure standing in front of the sea. The main color is blue, the lightness is emhasized by soft shades of cyan and widely opened sails of the boat. The woman is partly transparent, she is a part of the landscape. The attention is drawn to the balances: the bowsprit is tilted in the same direction as arms of the heroine. Two baskets are also equibalanced: one in the upper side - on the head, and another one - carried. The work is interesting for its geometry.
